Employability Coach (Experienced or Trainee)
Main Objectives of the Position: -
To work with clients throughout their employability journey, supporting them to identify and overcome barriers to gaining, retaining and progressing within employment. This post may be appointed at either Employability Coach or Trainee Employability Coach Level. Where a candidate is appointed at trainee level, structured training, mentoring and supervised practice will be provided to support progression into a full Employability Coach role.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: -
All postholders will:
Promote the employability programme to potential clients
Support clients one-to-one to identify goals, ambitions and barriers to employment
Contribute to the development and delivery of individual action plans
Maintain accurate client records and input date in line with programme requirements
Support outcome tracking and contribute to reporting client progress
Share good practice and contribute potential case studies
Attend team meetings and delivery partner meetings as required
Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by the line manager
In addition, Employability Coaches will:
Manage a caseload of clients independently from referral and assessment through to programme completion
Support clients to overcome barriers through tailored interventions and ongoing support
Identify, arrange and organise appropriate activities and specialist input to support client progression
Provide updates to the wider team on client progression outcomes and projected costs
Plan and manage workload with a high level of autonomy
Trainee Employability Coaches, with training and support, will:
Work alongside experienced Employability Coaches to deliver one-to-one client support
Assist clients to identify goals and barriers, with guidance and supervision
Support the sourcing and organisation of activities, training or specialist input
Help manage a caseload, with responsibilities increasing as confidence and competence develop
Undertake training, shadowing and reflective practice to support professional development
Be open to feedback and actively engage in learning opportunities
Person Specification
Essential for all applicants:
Ability to work with people in a supportive, non-judgemental manner.
Good communication and listening skills
Ability to build positive relationships with a range of clients, partners and colleagues.
Good administrative and IT skills with ability to organise and share information Using Microsoft 365.
Motivated, reliable and able to use initiative appropriately
Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusive practice
Experienced Employability Coach applicants should also demonstrate:
Experience working directly with people in employability, support, community or related services
Understanding of barriers to employment and strategies to address these
Ability to plan, prioritise and manage a workload independently
Trainee Employability Coach applicants should also demonstrate:
A genuine interest in employability, coaching, support work or community-based services
Willingness to learn, develop skills and undertake training
Openness to supervision, feedback and reflective practice
Reporting to Employability Team Lead
Hours: - 30 Hours per week
Salary:
Trainee Employability Coach: £26,299 pro rata
Employability Coach: £26,299 - £30,030 pro rata, depending on experience
Appointment level and starting salary will be determined based on skills, experience and evidence demonstrated through the recruitment process.
Location: - Office based, in Campbeltown
