About Inspiralba
Inspiralba is a charitable enterprise established in 2009, with the aim to support economic growth and deliver social and environmental benefits for communities across Scotland.
We provide a range of services which offer; employability for those furthest from the job market, business support, learning opportunities and advocacy with a focus on rural social enterprise.
Inspiralba is committed to playing its part in the Fair Work Convention’s vision that by 2025, people in Scotland will have a world-leading working life where fair work drives success, wellbeing and prosperity for individuals, businesses, organisations and society. We are therefore developing a workplace that is built on the five key dimensions of Fair Work: effective voice, opportunity, security, fulfilment and respect.
Our Charitable Objectives
Research & Development
To advance community development and to promote the effectiveness and/or efficiency of charities and, in particular, through providing services to community-based non-profit-distributing organisations, primarily those operating in Argyll & Bute (‘the Operating Area’), with a focus on emerging, developing and established community enterprises.
Another aim of ours is to advance heritage and in particular to protect the rural heritage of the Operating Area through promoting education in the fields of rural heritage, local studies and/or rural development and through collating information and carrying out research in those fields and the dissemination of the results of such research, all with a view to increasing understanding of rural regeneration issues.
Business Support
Inspiralba aim to assist community-based organisations to turn their ideas and aspiration in to robust, sustainable business. Profits generated are reinvested, either through in kind support or match funding for business development or project activities.
Support For Employability
We aim to advance education and in particular by: A) [researching], developing, facilitating and delivering training for community-based non-profit-distributing organisations within the Operating Area.
We also aim to relieve unemployment, particularly among residents of the Operating Area for public benefit in such ways as may be thought fit, including assistance to find employment.
What We Do
Over the past year we have supported 15 community enterprises, working with them to develop and grow their business activities providing support with: business and growth planning; marketing strategies; project development and management support; financial planning and management support

Community Benefit
Inspiralba are a social enterprise and have been able to reinvest in our charitable objectives over the past 15 years:
- Supporting employment and training opportunities.
- Providing support and match funding to identify community priorities with South Kintyre Development Trust and Campbeltown Community Council.
- Assisting with local and area wide community resilience activities in response to Covid 19 challenges.
- Providing match funding and support for research and development work on tackling depopulation in Argyll and Bute.
- Providing support for social enterprise networking.
- Providing Dragons Den sponsorship for social enterprise.
