Digital Connections – Youth Film Challenge

Digital Connections – Youth Film Challenge

Recognising the value of local digital media information and the skills that many local young people have, we are launching a Digital Connections short film competition, for young people under 25 (with 3 age groups: primary, secondary and post school age).  We are asking for short films to be made which we can then share with the wider community,  categories can include:

  • Our area.
  • Activities I love.
  • Local history and or culture.
  • People or local organisations that make me proud.
  • Ways to stay happy & healthy during Covid lockdown.
  • Any other topics that you think might be popular, informative or fun.

Prizes include: a trip to Finland next year (as this competition was inspired through our partnership work on Erasmus ViSENet project with partners in Finland, Estonia, Romania and Germany), we also have  £100 vouchers and the opportunity to have your film selected for a virtual Red Carpet Film Premiere and OSCAR (Our Super Community And Resilience) Film Awards Ceremony .

Films can be shot using smart phone or tablet or camera and can be shared via You Tube, Vimeo or by e mail.

Please ensure you adhere to the current social distancing circumstances and use creativity in your home space, garden or when out for daily exercise to capture images, etc…  Animations, stop motion, photo montage as well as Vlogging, acting, re enactments, telephone, whatsapp, messenger or zoom interviews etc will all be worth thinking about as a means of collecting material and footage during the current challenges.
